
Stan began teaching at New York University’s Steinhardt School in 2006, where he continues as an adjunct professor in both the Vocal Performance and Collaborative Piano programs.
He has served as Music Director/Conductor for seven “Main Stage” and four “Ala Carte” university productions: Brigadoon, The Secret Garden, Sweet Smell of Success, The Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Violet, The Fix, Assassins, The Golden Apple, Quilters, & Berlin To Broadway. He also music directs the annual NYU Showcase, which presents Vocal Performance majors in music theater to the industry.
In 2019, he joined the NYU Steinhardt piano faculty, where he teaches graduate level students in the new Collaborative Piano Program in Music Theater.
He is pleased that many of the NYU students he has taught, coached, or conducted have found their way to Broadway stages, orchestra pits, and other professional venues.
